One of the newest summer shows on Fox is "On the Lot" created by Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg. It's seems like a mix between the Apprentice and American Idol. Same intense music and lighting, just without the Donald. The judges are Carrie Fischer, who was princess Lea (sorry, star wars people. I probably spelled that wrong), Gary Marshall, who has produced movies like Pretty Woman, and Brett Ratner who has done such movies like X-men: the Last Stand.
It's actually amazing how much these guys can create in the little time they have. So, if you're bored of re-runs, this show might be worth a shot.
Do you ever feel like Ted? Don't get me wrong, I love my job and love what I do, just sometimes all those reminders, emails, tasks, and piles of paper get to you. I feel like I need a week of vacation at work!
Okay, it's not just because I know the guy, but this single is amazing. You can get it on iTunes. The band's name is "Moi" after frontman Moises Navarro. Moi's voice is like butter, so smooth and the more of it, the better. He shows some real control and beauty on his newest single, Superman. Although his other music is good, I feel like this latest song is going to take him places. The ever-so-famous blogger/photographer/musician Daley Hake is also in the band. "It Pleases You" is one of my other favorite tunes. Please go download these songs or just get the whole albums. I'll never forget back a couple years ago and me, Los and Moi were hanging out doing something and Moi's like, "check this song I wrote last night" he busts out the MiniDisc player and plays it for me and Los. I was like, "that's tight bro" because that's what we said back then. I knew it was going to be good, but when I heard the studio version I was pretty impressed. So there you go, I know someone who is semi-famous! Check out the band's mySpace to hear some tunes (one of the only times you'll actually see me supporting mySpace). You can also catch them at Spirit West Coast if you're headed there. So here are some sites to help you get started: Moi's Home Page Moi on mySpace Daley Hake's Blog
I had beaten the easy level after a couple times of playing, but finally just finished it on the "normal" setting. I don't know why but these little games are so addicting to me. They taunt me. I sit in bed thinking of where to put my towers. I think about figuring it out on a mathematical scale but never do.
I'm listening to this amazing song right now, it's...oh, I'll make it it's own post.
Should I attempt the "hard" level? No. But as Paul says, "I do what I don't want to do and the very things I hate, I do." Maybe it's not that serious, but it feels like it sometimes!
That's right, my wife, Jacinda just started a blog tonight and with my help, we're working on making it look the way she wants. "Just send a..." is the way we teach people to say her name. Jacinda, like Just send a letter to me. So all of you who read this go over to her blog and encourage her to keep going!
Love is a funny word. We say it when we eat our favorite ice cream, when we see our dream car or even when we talk in front of crowds..."I love you all". Go back to the real meaning, because this "love" that people show each other now doesn't even compare to what I feel for my bride. Today is our 6 year wedding anniversary and I couldn't be happier. She is the most amazing woman I know. I still can't believe she married me. But she did and I know that God pulled us together. I'm a big believer that we all have a true love. I don't know how else to explain it and even more so how I got it. It wasn't left up to chance, I know that. So, if you're still waiting, don't settle for anything but the best because it is amazing. I feel like our love has been growing for the last 6 years and just enjoy her company and companionship more than ever. Her mom took the kids last night and we got all dolled up and went to a really nice dinner. We wanted to party the night away, but our clocks are so set that we were fading by 9:30...as usual. So we watched a movie at home, barely staying awake. This morning we got up and took a bike ride around town and it was perfect, nice and cool, sun shining. We're off now to go shopping at some outlets, so I'll write again later. Love you babe!
I finally got to see the season finale of heroes today. Jacinda doesn't care to watch it and we've been up late all this week watching the shows we both like, so I hadn't seen it. Jacinda called me today, letting me know she was going out, so I could watch. I freaking jumped out of my chair, grabbed some fast food and headed home. What can I say? LOVED it! This season finale killed 24's! I can't wait to see what happens next season.
My guess is that Peter Petrelli is still alive, hopefully Nathan got away in time, and Hiro is going to meet his father who is actually the original Kensei master, kind of like Highlander? Hmmm, can't wait.
I don't know what the deal is with Amazon, but this $1400 BBQ has been on sale this week, probably for Father's Day. It is made by Strathwood which is Amazon's house brand; kind of like Kirkland for Costco I guess. Regular Price $1400 with $100 shipping and handling. I just picked it up for $399 with Free Shipping! I just went back to the site and the price changed, but if you're in the market for a big BBQ, you might want to watch it.
Note: I haven't actually seen the grill, so I cannot attest to it's quality, but for $400 bucks, how can I go wrong.
My current grill is the lowest level Target grill. It has served us well, but is completely falling apart, the inside is chipping off, and the burner covers are eaten away from all the grease and rust. Everytime I try to BBQ a tri-tip (i hope you all know what that is, it's kind of a west coast thing), the whole thing catches on fire! This is going to be so nice. I hope it gets here before Father's Day for my annual Meat-fest.
