This is the Boganwright's. Their real names are Rebecca and Andrew. But, we call them Becca and Bogie. I've known Bogie since Kindergarten and we grew up in the same neighborhood. Best friends ever since. Well, Saturday night we were all hanging out, like I mentioned earlier, and they both started blogs!
Bogie works at Sandals Church and Becca is a teacher but also sings on the worship team at Sandals. Go check them out and give them some blog love.
As, you probably know, yesterday was Carlos and Heather's last official day at Sandals Church in Riverside. I drove down on Saturday with my 2 girls and hung out while Jacinda was at a bachelorette party all weekend in San Diego. Saturday was cool. My good friend Bogie and his wife Becca came over, they started blogs (I need to get those web addresses), and we watched "Talladega nights". Shake and Bake!
Sunday, was full of church. I dropped the girls, Heather and their 3 kids off at their children's ministry (sorry about that Janie!) which they creatively call, "flip-flops" and then I headed to Barnes and Noble for some "me time". I went back to the 11 o'clock service because that was the one that the guy from LA Ink was going to be filming stuff. We then headed back to the Whittaker's house, grabbed some lunch with his folks and after Jacinda got there to relieve me of some of the kid duties, I crashed. I slept for about an hour and then we got ready and headed to Sandals, one last time.
It was pretty emotional, which is exhausting in and of itself. We left Riverside by 9:30 and didn't get to Fresno until 2am! That's just when I walked in the door. I can't even remember when I actually got to bed. I wanted to curse my alarm this morning, but I was here, right around 7, but it feels like there is a monkey on my back. In college, I totally could've pulled this off, but now I practically need an IV with caffeine in it. I'm feeling pretty good now, just still sluggish.
Carlos flew to Atlanta last night after the service. Hope you're doing good buddy.
I don't know if it's because I'm bored, or that one of my best friends is moving across the country, or that I am drinking in more sugar than I have in awhile in my Coca-Cola Slurpee from 7eleven, but, I'm in the mood to change some things around. I'm gonna start with my blog. So, it might look a little weird for awhile. I'll probably be moving stuff here and there. I realized that I hardly ever go to people's actual blogs because I read most of them with my RSS (Google Reader). Plus, it just seems a little cluttered. So, here it goes...
Okay, I'm at Carlos' house right now and he was bragging about how many links he has and how he is in the top 9,000 under the Technorati rankings. He thinks he's all that and for the 15 hours a day that he spends on the freakin' computer, it's worth it. I looked myself up and found that I was 177,881. Ok, I'm cool with that. I am not cool with this.
Heather, aka whittakerwoman, aka Carlos' wife is beating me in the technorati rankings. You'll notice I didn't even give you the link to her blog right now. Yes, offense. It's war. So please link me on your blog. Oh and while you're at it, delete hers...shhh...don't tell her.
John Couey was just given the death penalty in a Florida court for raping and burying alive a third grade girl named Jessie. Unbelievable. I can not imagine the horror that this man did. The judge read over the crime and what happened as Couey buried her alive while she was in 2 trash bags, with her wrists bound.
Immediate gut reaction: Kill the SOB.
Makes you wonder about how God and this world work together. I remember the passage in Exodus where God made Pharoah's heart hard to Moses' commands and just have to believe that something good will come from this. I don't know though...no answers here today.
I got a brand new 2007 V6 Honda Accord! It's actually the same exact car I had before just 6 years newer. Well, it's not exactly the same, but you get my drift. It's the same color as in the picture. Carbon Bronze Pearl with a tan leather interior and wood grain accents. I got a great deal on it because anytime now, the new 2008 Accord will be hitting the sales floor. The new model is really cool looking but, hey, I was looking for a deal. Plus, Honda's are very spiritual:
Not actually, we just murdered another church's softball team last night. I think the score ended at 11 to 2. I actually lost count (said with a smirk).
It's always fun when you win and that was the semi-final, so we will play in our leagues finals in 2 weeks. I personally went 2 for 3 and almost through a guy out at second (I play catcher) after he lead off a little too far.
Nothing like gettin' your adrenaline up and running!
