Graduations

This last weekend was full of graduation festivities. Friday I got to see my brother graduate with a degree in criminology and then later that same day we saw his wife, Jessica graduate with her master's in physical therapy. Talk about some milestones!
So proud of them and can't wait to see what life will look like for them now.
At the graduations, which everyone knows are super boring, my brother and I started joking around and posing in the background of other people's photos.
I got caught in the background of this one that my mom was taking of my bro and sis-in-law's family. Nice!

The Mother of my Children

Jacinda is an amazing woman. Her love of life and her pursuit to always be the best are inspiring. Her beauty was what first attracted me, but her self-confidence and drive won me over. 

She is a talented singer and even though she never got her chance on "Star Search" she still uses what God breathed into her to praise Him and lead others. She is an intense gym rat, and unless she comes home completely drenched, she didn't work out hard enough. She loves people and can talk to almost anyone in any situation. Oh, and she is one of the most creative people I've ever met. 

Family Night is a huge deal in our house. If you know my wife at all, you would know about family nights. Under the Sea, Caveman (i got to wear a loin-cloth), Princess, Take me out to the Ballgame, Movie Theater, Circus, or Olympic night, it's always been fun. She could seriously be the marketing executive of some company, because she spends like $4 and makes these amazing nights that I'm our whole family will remember for years to come. 

Jacinda is an amazing mommy to our three girls. They love her intensely, don't like letting her go, get upset when she's not there, and squeeze her hard when she returns. Life has definitely thrown us a couple curve-balls, but I bet you our kids wouldn't be able to tell you that. They've been moved from their home, yet Jacinda makes them feel at home everyday. Again, her creativity allows her to keep them happy in every circumstance of life. The picture below is a perfect example of Jacinda. Laying on the operating table, belly wide open for the C-section and look at that smile!

I love her with everything I have and she is my standard for what a woman should be. I was thinking of words to write for her and I think love makes you cheesy. It's like you don't have the words to say, so you resort back to some 80's romance movie or something. But, I heard this song awhile back and the lyrics seemed perfect:

She's got whatever it is, I don't know what to do

Because every time I try and tell her how I feel, it comes out

"I love you"

Jacinda, you are amazing and I'm very aware that I got the better end of the deal here. You were an "out of my league" Clovis West girl, who somehow fell in love with a Clovis High guy with pointy sideburns, chain wallet and skate shoes and I can't thank the Lord enough for introducing us. All the words in the world, descriptions and stories, will never top the simple phrase of truth,

This picture was taken at a friend's wedding recently. I mean come on! My wife was 8 days away from giving birth. She was one good looking pregnant lady! 

just a little braggin '

This is one of my best friends in the world. His name is Carlos and you might think he looks familiar because he is the force and spirit of "Ragamuffin Soul". My girls call him Uncle Carlos and Kiara says it with such vigor and with a little accent as she tries to roll her R's.

It's no news to any of you out there, but Carlos is a pretty cool dude who is seriously involved in church culture. His success and ability to shape culture has taken him from Georgia to Fresno to LA, and now to Atlanta. He has been asked to speak again at the "Saddleback Worship Conference" this year and as I was looking at the website I just think it is so cool to see his picture there, so, here you go: That's him on the bottom right. I mean, look who else is in those pictures! I know they are just people like us, but to be included with the likes of Francis Chan, Vicky Beeching, and Rick Warren is pretty cool. 

Carlos, even though we live a whole country apart, I love being part of you and your family's life and it doesn't hurt that at the mention of your name, my cool meter goes up, I get better tables and famous celebrities want to kiss my baby. You guys are family to us, and I'm proud to call you a friend. Expecting big things!

The other day I ran a quick errand and when I came back, I couldn't find Melania right away. She was down next to my bed and had found the stash of halloween candy that we were slowly going through. Well, she got into about all 10 pieces that were left. But, when she looked up at me with those pretty blues, I just couldn't help but laugh. 

Home Alone

Well, I dropped Jacinda off today at the airport. She is heading out to Atlanta to go to a blog party hosted by our east coast family, Carlos and Heather. I worked until about 11, and came home for the day to watch the girls. It's always weird when Jacinda leaves. 

I love her so much and she is such an integral part of my life that I just feel like like I'm waiting for her to walk into the room the entire time she's gone. 

Everything is harder without her especially taking care of the girls. My stress limit is so low. The weirdest thing is just trying to sleep. The room feels so empty.

Anyway, Love you babe! We'll all miss you but have fun!
